Anabolic fasting schedule

I know most are not interested in the health aspects of leangains intermittent fasting program but I have some big concerns about it so I will cover it quickly. A bad omen is that as far as I can tell, the words “vegetable”, “fiber”, and “anti-oxidant” do not seem to appear anywhere on the leangains website but there is a whole section on supplements. I’m a bit concerned about what the people following the Leangains program are actually eating. As far as the health of the intermittent fasting itself. It does appear the following the leangains intermittent fasting program does improve your cholesterol levels but according to  this study , it appears that the same benefit can be achieved by exercise alone. The other concern I have about the health aspects of the leangains program is that it does not include cardio. In my opinion, daily cardio is the kernel of any fitness program that has overall health and well being as a goal.

Every week I lift three days, cycle three days for 100 miles or so, walk four hours and IF at least three days, sometimes four: Two or three 16-hour fasts and one 24… and I’ll be 66 this year. I was ultra low carb for a long time so fasting is no big hungry deal. The way I work it is Monday night I eat at 6 pm. Next morning with no breakfast I cycle 33-35 miles or so. Then at noon I eat. I repeat that Wed. night to Thursday. I repeat that Fri. night to Saturday noon, or if my schedule doesn’t all I cycle Saturday but eat normally. However I don’t eat from around 5 . Saturday to 5 . Sunday. In that time I always walk at least four hours. Weights get lifted Monday am, Wed, am, Friday . My BMI is 24 and my body fat 16%, my T is in the 700s which for my age is fine (no T supplementing.) I do watch the diet, track everything I eat, and I do take various vitamins and minerals. I also get a lot of sun so my vit D ng/ml is around 80 all year.

It’s been 3 weeks on your Wild Diet, and nothing has happened on the scale. While I do notice my pants fit differently, I have yet to lose a pound, and am up actually 2lbs from yesterday. My only indulgence from my past is my morning creamer in my 2 cups of coffee. That said, last week, I discovered it contains high fructose corn syrup. I’ve tried to make my own French Vanilla, but just can’t match the ID taste. Since I consume between 1/3 to 1/2 a cup of the creamer a day, how much would that amount of high fructose corn syrup disrupt the Wild Diet? Could that be the reason? Or because muscle weighs more than fat, am I actually regaining some of my lost muscle? I’m keeping the faith, but sure could use some answers.

Uhuu, another great article!
Since I came across your website few weeks ago, I’m trying to read the articles on a regular bases. And this one comes just in time (yeah, a sign from the Universe!) to support my decision in keeping up with the fasting I’ve already started. My way – twice a week for 24 hours. (I actually adopted this from Brad Pilon’s book Eat Stop Eat; also a nice piece of information on the subject). It’s been just few weeks now that I’ve been doing it but it feels awesome. And about the training while fasting – last time I decided to have my Karate class on a fasting day – was great! Absolutely no lack of energy, would say even the opposite. ;)
Well, my commitment is a year-long, so I hope that sometime in the middle of the year I’ll already have a Success Story to send you, along with the meditation practice. :)) Cheers!
